Who are we

Midland Transports is a family owned and operated company based out of Jefferson City Missouri. Midland was purchased in 1986 with 5 trucks and is now operating over 40 trucks throughout Missouri. All trucks are strategically placed across the state of Missouri allowing us to complete a delivery most anywhere our customer requests. We have first in class drivers and equipment and maintain an extremely good record the DOT and the FMCSA.

Our History

Midland was bought by Tom and John Kolb in 1986, at that time Midland ran 5 semi-trucks servicing just the central Missouri area. Throughout the years Midland has grown to over 40 trucks and services the entire state of Missouri along with several corners of surrounding states. Midland built its own service center in 2002 allowing for a cost-effective solution to servicing and maintaining its fleet. Midland has adjusted with the times and the industry and prides itself on being a “go-to” transporter for fuel deliveries.

OUR TEAM

Tom Kolb
President
Tom and his brother John took ownership of Midland in 1986 and grew it to a fleet of 38 trucks while operating the sister company Jefferson City Oil Co. Tom has been in the Oil and Gas industry his entire life and looks forward to continuing the growth of Midland Transports.
John Mertens
Dispatch/Billing
John has been dispatching with Midland Transports since February of 2014. John owned and operated Mertens Oil Co in Jefferson City for 30 years before selling and coming to Midland. He is a wealth of knowledge with all his experience and essential to the smooth operation of routing trucks.
James Wray
Shop Mechanic
James has been working in the truck garage for 8 years. James brought many years of automotive knowledge with him and continues to grow his knowledge of heavy-duty diesel tech.

Thomas “TK” Kolb
Safety/Sales
TK has been involved with the company his entire life but officially started working in the office in December of 2018. TK took on the title of Safety Manager recently and has focused on growth of the company while doing so in a safe and efficient manner.
Martha Butler
ACCG/Insurance
Martha has been with Midland since 1990. She has perfected and managed all of Midlands accounting and is continually analyzing and reporting Midlands financials. Martha is vital to the company’s continuous operation.
Gavin Steele
Shope Mechanic
Gavin has been working with Midland Transports for two years. Gavin is a fast learner and enjoys completing all tasks to the best of his ability.

Kyle Schrimpf
Sales/Dispatch
Kyle grew up in Jefferson City and has been working with Midland Transports since 2018. Kyle has been vital in growing the business and adding trucks to the South Eastern corner of the state.
Terri Craig
AP/AR/Billing
Terri has been with Midland since September of 2019. She is responsible for all accounts payable and receivable. Terri grew up in Ashland MO and has played a huge role in the company since her first day.
Harry Mcentire
Shop Mechanic
Harry has been with Midland for 21 years. He held the title of Head Mechanic until his partial retirement 3 years ago. Harry works part-time now and is responsible for all new truck and trailer setups along with installing ELDs, cameras and any other wiring jobs.
John Haney
Dispatch/Billing
John has been dispatching with Midland Transports since November of 2004. He worked in the tire business before transferring to Midland to dispatch and he has been a leader in his role since his first day.
Jeff Pregner
Head Mechanic
Jeff started at the Midland truck garage as a shop assistant and has worked his way up to the Head Mechanic title. Jeff has 20 years of experience working on heavy-duty diesel trucks and has knowledge of working on every make and model.
